You have to carry items that’ll pass for a discrete weapon if you’re going to some places. This may be because you do not need attention to be drawn to you, or maybe the place does not allow firearm carry. Not to bother anyway — you may not need a gun except your enemy has one. This article & its preceding part look at the items you can use as a weapon without anyone suspecting.
Here we go.
3 Items That’ll Pass for a Discrete Weapon
Pen/Pencil
Very few people (if any at all) would be disturbed to see you carrying a pen or pencil. So, I’d you’re having a pen in your bag, I’m sure no one will think you’re carrying a weapon. Yet, that’s an item that you can use to kill (if you know how to) — as John Wick did. Or you may just use it to injure the enemy to get enough time to run away.
While an ordinary pen can do, your best bet is a tactical pen. I’m even suggesting that you include a few ones in your EDC kit. Be careful with these, though: some people may be aware of the threat you pose holding one.
Note that any pencil will pass for a weapon, so long as it is used correctly. You can hold the pencil as you hold a bunch of keys: sticking out between your fingers. Or you may hold it like a knife meant to stab. As always, target the soft spots & stab vigorously.
Flashlight
Your flashlight, be it ordinary or tactical, can be an effective discrete weapon. When directed at the attacker’s ribs, temple, nose ridge, or shin, a flashlight can have a deadly impact. I would recommend the 2-cell Maglite & other models like it for this purpose.
A 3-cell flashlight is a formidable baton. It can be used to break the bones of an adult or even knock him out cold, thereby buying you a lot of time to inflict more damage or make an escape. I’d rather do more damage and tie him up in case he wakes up early.
A Briefcase
I doubt anyone will confiscate a briefcase containing nothing but books & pens, but you see it now, don’t you? A briefcase is a powerful discretionary weapon that’d save your life when it matters. Be careful, though, so robbers don’t seize it from you.
An empty briefcase can seriously injure a person, provided it is heavily & rightly used. This hit is deadlier if you use a model made of heavy-duty aluminum. Also, a briefcase can protect you from a knife swing or a baseball bat attack. The briefcase can seriously wound your attacker if you swing hard at his elbows, knee joints, or head. Or his neck from behind.
Plus, your briefcase may contain other discretionary weapons, such as a pencil, flashlight & magazines, or newspapers.
Concluding The Items That’ll Pass for a Discrete Weapon
Cuticle clippers can also be a discrete weapon. Same as your belt. In fact, anything can be a weapon in the right hands. A simple USB cable is enough for some people to kill others—same as sturdy boots. Let’s hear from you: are there other items that’ll pass for a discrete weapon? Have you used any in any situation?
